One such recent message is that Sir is an abbreviation for Servant I Remain.
It is not right. Absolute rubbish!
Sir is an English word and not an abbreviation! Only abbreviations are expandable and have a full form.
Sir is derived from Sire (Old French) which is derived from Seior (Vulgar Latin) which is derived from Senior (Latin)
It is a honorific for nobles. It is used for addressing Lords and Knights. Equivalent word for female is Lady. It is just a form of address to show respect just like 'Ji' in Hindi. I have noticed that even children are addressed with 'Aap', 'Ji' in UP. Gentlemen often addressed children by the word 'sir' in England too.
One can always invent an expansion for a word and twist and colour it.
For example I can say:
GIRL: Ghost In Real Life
WIFE: Worries Invited For Ever.
COLLEGE: Come On Lets Love Each Girl Equally.
STUPID: smart telented unique person in demand
IDIOT: intelligent doctor in operation theator.
And so on ....
Please dont fall prey to such quackery. More important, don't spread such sensational but foolish messages, by forwarding to all in your groups without ascertaining the authenticities posts you receive.
